Meeting of the Equinoxes

My best friend kept bugging me and bugging me to enter the art show at our local fair. We thought we had missed the deadline, but it turned out there was a week to spare. I cranked out this picture after three intense nights of painting. It took second in its category, which was pretty cool, since I had never submitted a piece before.

I plan to make a companion piece to this, showing the meeting of the solstices, but I am taking awhile to get around to it.
